Prominent Greek shipping figures gave the pulse of shipping today at the Mare Forum which recently took place at Divani Hotel, Kavouri.
It is well accepted that the shipping market experiences very unstable conditions. In 2012, 335 vessels have been scrapped leading the shipping market to a new balance.

In his speech Mr. Nicky Pappadakis, chairman of Intercargo, explained the consequences of liquidfaction. In 2011-2012, 4 ships sank with 66 lives lost. To avoid liquidfaction there is a need of sample testing and controlling the moisture content.  Intercargo has undertaken an international campaign on this problem and all the owners should be aware of.

Mr. George Gratsos, president of Hellenic Chamber of Shipping described the current freight market. He said, shipping serves an integrated transport system.
