The delivery of M/V “Fakarava” marks XRTC’s strong involvement in the Chinese shiplending marketCover Story Saturday, November 10th, 2012
On 7 September, 2012 DryShips took delivery of the 206.100dwt very large ore carrier (VLOC) “Fakarava” from SWS. The godmother of the vessel was Mrs. Katerina Fitsiou, senior relationship manager of XRTC Business Consultants.
The name of the vessel comes from an atoll in the west of the Tuamotu group in French Polynesia.
The financing of the ship is part of that funding scheme of $5bn to finance the building of Greek ships at Chinese shipyards. CDB and Bank of China are financing “Fakarava” in cooperation with XRTC Business Consultants which represent the owners interests. Two other sisterships are to be delivered from SWS in the first and second quarters of next year.
