Hill Dickinson Piraeus focuses on maintaining and developing its long standing ties with Greek shipping

Piraeus has rapidly developed to become one of the world’s most reputable and dynamic maritime hubs, offering very

In 1994, Hill Dickinson identified the potential to ser vice this growing hub and, building on its long established English
maritime practice, opened an office to represent the firm in Greece.
The office was founded by Patrick Hawkins, an English solicitor, fluent in Greek and universally regarded as one of the leading maritime lawyers in the industry. Under Patrick’s leadership, Hill Dickinson has grown to become one of the largest law firms in Piraeus specializing in shipping. In 2014, Patrick was promoted to Hill Dickinson’s first Global Head of Shipping. The Piraeus office currently has 3 Partners, 4 Senior Associates, 2 Associates & 3 Legal Assistants.
In the interview that follows, Patrick Hawkins and his team reflect on some of the landmarks of Hil l Dickinson’s 21 years in Greece, including some of the challenges the office and industry have faced during that time.
