NTUA focuses on the operational optimization measures to reduce air emissions

NTUA has reported a remarkable study for the “Quantitative analysis of the world merchant fleet Green House Gas Emissions profile”.
Within this framework, the current study has focused on the vessels which serve the deep water, high seas global trade routes. There are
three essential reasons behind this approach. First of all, deep sea ships undertake the vast burden of global trades; second, their efficiency in
terms of energy per transport work is much higher and not comparable to shortsea small size coastal ships; last but not least, their access to
energy efficiency solutions and technologies is constrained by their size and range requirements.
